Every Friday, the fine folk over at The Daily Post issue a weekly photo challenge. This weeks challenge is Summer.
Summer. Where you live, summer might be arriving soon, or (if you’re in the southern hemisphere), a fleeting memory. But what signifies summer to you?
Summer to me is about two things. Food and the outdoors. Lets explore the outdoors here and food on my foodie blog!
Summer is all about recreation and being outdoors. I stumbled across this lovely scene this summer of these men enjoying the sunshine while racing their remote-controlled one meter international class yachts.
Summer is all about the beach for us. When the weather is punishing, we head to the beach for a refreshing afternoon dip. Summer is also all about late southerly storms as featured in these two beach shots.
More beach and recreation photos; this time featuring fishermen. These photos were taken right on twilight – about 8pm. The weather was lovely and warm and no one minded staying out late to enjoy the summer evening.
And finally, summer sunsets. There is something magical about being out and about to watch the sunset in summer. The colours are magnificent and inviting while the air is warm and comforting.
Ahhhh summer…. how I miss you and lament your absence as I steel myself for winters bite!
For my regular readers, the photo on my food blog Rhianna’s Guide to Ethical Eating are different from the post here!
